About us
How we research what remodeling costs in Atlanta
Kitchen & Bath ATL is an independent guide to kitchen and bathroom remodeling in metro Atlanta. Every price and permit fact on this site has a published source you can check.
Where our prices come from
We never publish a contractor's price from our own guesswork or from one company's quote. Every cost figure comes from a published cost guide, and the guide and its year are named next to the number:
- Remodeling magazine's Cost vs. Value report (2025 Atlanta edition): the most widely cited study of what specific, fully defined remodeling projects cost, priced city by city. It's our source for Atlanta-specific averages.
- HomeGuide's cost guides (2026 editions): national price ranges by project size, scope and material, built from contractor pricing data. They cover the full range of real jobs, from a small refresh to a full remodel.
- Fixr's cost guides: national prices for individual jobs like tub-to-shower conversions, cabinet refacing and countertops, each cited with its update date on the page.
Published averages describe typical projects, not yours. That's why every price table carries the note that prices are for reference only. Your remodeler's written, itemized estimate is the number that counts.
Where our permit facts come from
Permit rules come straight from each city's own building department pages, linked on our permits by city page. We note which office handles which addresses, because in metro Atlanta the city, not the county, issues permits inside city limits.
How often we check
We review every figure when its source publishes a new edition, and at least every six months. Last full review: November 2026.
How the site is paid for
We're a referral service. When you call or request an estimate, we introduce you to one licensed, insured local remodeling company that serves your area, and that company pays us for the introduction. You pay nothing for the estimate and contract directly with the remodeler, or not at all. We don't perform remodeling work, and we don't publish reviews, ratings or project photos we didn't earn. How it works.
